David grew up in Brisbane and is a graduate of the University of Queensland. He worked at Greenslopes and Mater Hospitals in Brisbane, before serving as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps. Subsequently David travelled to the United Kingdom, where he worked in Accident and Emergency.
In 1989 David arrived on the Gold Coast and joined Dr Rod Worfold at his practice in Nerang Sreet, Southport. The practice was renamed “On The Park General Practice” when it relocated to Cotlew Street, Ashmore.
David is a true believer in “General” Practice, and enjoys all aspects of family medicine. He has undertaken further training through the University of Queensland in Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy.
In 2021, David was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to Medicine, in General Practice.
David is a member of the Board of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, and is a director of CheckUP Australia which provides medical outreach services to rural and remote communities in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
