Dr Kathryn Myers

Dr Kathy went to school in Brisbane and then  graduated from UQ medical school in 1992. After a couple of years working at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Hospital, she underwent her specialist GP training in Brisbane.

Subsequently she worked in Melbourne and in Edinburgh, before moving to and settling on the Gold Coast in January of 2000.

She is married (25 years now!) and has two teenage daughters who keep her very busy when she isn’t at work.

Answering an advertisement for a 3 week locum with Drs Rowlands and Pearcy on arrival at the Coast in 2000, she quickly became enamoured of the practice, and after joining as an associate in 2001, has now been here for 23 years. Some locum!

In 2006, while on maternity leave, Kathy undertook advanced training in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer, which she now considers a special interest within her practice.

Dr Kathy grew up with a family doctor whose practice was like a family, and ended up training under and working with her own GP for four years before leaving Brisbane. It was this experience of true old fashioned family practice that appeals to her, and that she tries to emulate in her own practice.

At On the Park General Practice the doctors and staff are all like family to her. Kathy values and respects her patients. She  truly loves watching families grow, and is humbled by the trust and faith that her patients bestow upon her. She tries at all times to ensure that trust is well placed.

Kathy respects the individual, and aims at all times to provide thorough medical care of all aspects and in all stages of her patients’ lives.  Her interests include all aspects of general practice, including caring for children, adults and the elderly. Her  special interests include women’s health, and the prevention, diagnosis and management, both surgical and non surgical, of skin cancer.
