Skin Cancer Screening
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Skin cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia. About two in three Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer before the age of 70.
BCC can develop in young people, but it is more common in people over 40. SCC occurs mostly in people over 50.
In Queensland melanoma is the second most common cancer diagnosed in men and women. Every year more than 4180 people are estimated to be diagnosed with melanoma in Queensland. Cancer Council Queensland

It is important for women to take care of their health and wellbeing. All of our doctors, including our female doctors, have training and an interest in women’s health and provide women’s health check and care.
Prevention is vital to improve health outcomes for men, including maintaining general health and wellbeing. Regular health checks and screenings help men stay well and healthy. Our doctors are experienced in assessing, treating and managing health conditions experienced by men.
Providing immunisation services including
• Vaccinations listed on the Queensland
Immunisation Schedule for Children, and Queensland Immunisation Schedule for Adolescents and Adults.
• Annual flu vaccines. Vaccinations are available each year from April onwards to provide protection for the peak of the influenza season.
• We no longer stock Covid-19 vaccinations. They are available numerous Pharmacies in the area.

The Australian Government has accepted a recommendation that the following groups should receive an extra 2023 COVID-19 vaccine dose if six months have passed since their last dose:
• All adults aged 75 years and older
• Everyone 18 years and over with medical comorbidities, disability or complex health needs
• People at higher risk of severe illness
Prevention is the key to Australia’s future health, both individually and collectively. It is estimated that 80% of premature heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes and 40% of cancer could be prevented through interventions such as healthy diet, regular physical activity and avoiding tobacco products. Health assessments play an important role in population health, both in screening for risk and providing an opportunity for early intervention. Health assessments are available for 40-49yr olds, 75yr old and above, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and for people with an intellectually disability.
